The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has launched a new dementia care management program called GUIDE (Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience). This program is designed to improve the quality of care and support for people living with dementia and their caregivers. GUIDE is a pay-for-performance program that will provide participating organizations with a per-beneficiary, per-month payment for providing care management and coordination and caregiver education and support services. Members of GUIDE will have access to a dedicated medical team, caregiver support, and respite care, among other vital supports and services covered by Medicare.
