Isaac Health has recently become a participating site in the Alzheimer’s Network for Treatment and Diagnostics (ALZ-NET). Sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association and managed by the American College of Radiology, ALZ-NET is a collaborative effort to improve brain health outcomes across the nation and drive innovation in the ways we care for and treat Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
Currently the only telehealth site featured in the ALZ-NET registry, Isaac Health is uniquely able to provide access to dementia and brain health care services for patients living in “dementia neurology deserts” – underserved regions in the U.S. that either lack or have disproportionately few dementia specialists and neurologists. Nearly half of the US is considered a “dementia neurology desert.”1 And, if there is a specialist available, a recent study found that 1 in 5 people on Medicare will need to travel 50 or more miles to see them.2
Why ALZ-NET?
The ALZ-NET registry is a “resource for evidence gathering, information sharing, and education across clinical and research communities to support and improve care of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease.” In particular, the ALZ-NET registry will collect longitudinal clinical data from enrolled patients treated with novel FDA-approved Alzheimer’s Disease therapies to track clinical, safety, and long-term health outcomes of individuals in real-world settings from a variety of backgrounds and communities.
As a participant in the ALZ-NET registry, Isaac Health will be able to expand access to the latest innovative medications for Alzheimer’s disease to more rural and geographically isolated populations or those looking for more convenient access. Patients and caregivers can select a participating ALZ-NET site such as Isaac Health to receive high-quality dementia care, discover opportunities to participate in dementia research, and contribute to ongoing outcomes research.
Enrolling in care with an ALZ-NET site does not incur any additional costs. Learn more about how the ALZ-NET works for patients here or search for dementia specialists in the ALZ-NET registry here.
