Today we are excited to showcase our Founder and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Joel Salinas, MD! A Harvard-trained neurologist, Dr. Salinas specializes in cognitive-behavioral neurology which is the backbone of our clinical approach at Isaac. His depth of knowledge in this focus area allows him to build an effective treatment program that better cares for people who have cognitive decline and impairment due to neurodegenerative conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease–the most common cause of dementia in older adults.
Dr. Salinas specializes in practical clinical approaches to brain health and has conducted clinical research to understand psychosocial determinants of brain health and harness these insights to preserve healthy cognitive function at the population level. He is also an author and speaker, featured regularly at national and international events and is a contributor to broadcast shows and news outlets, including BBC, CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, and NPR. Our patients are incredibly fortunate to have Dr. Salinas leading the charge in their care. His commitment to delivering the best and most compassionate care possible is unwavering.
Dr. Salinas currently works at NYU Langone as a neurologist and is the Lulu P. and David J. Levidow Assistant Professor of Neurology at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Previously, he was Assistant Professor and Faculty Neurologist at Harvard Medical School and the Clinical Director of the McCance Center for Brain Health at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Salinas received his medical degree and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and his Masters of Science in Epidemiology from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
